Halloween 2009
Meghan is fascinated with all things Egyptian, so she decided that she wanted to be Cleopatra this year. We recycled the collar and belt from her 1ST GRADE costume and just made the dress part. I only added about 1 1/2 inches to the belt, if you can believe that....she's only that much bigger around than she was in 1st grade...geez. I'm not sure where she got those genes, but they weren't from me. I was a skinny kid, but not THAT skinny! The hardest part of the entire project was finding her something to wear under it. Nobody sells a slip for a 12 year old stick, lol. Or any other 12 year old, for that matter. She had a camisole, and I made her a half slip out of an old slip of mine.

Very nice! Those skinny genes are there. Some us have forgotten what it's like to be that skinny. ;) haha Scott is very skinny, I'm glad that they make little boys pants w/ adjustable waist bands. I don't know what I would do w/out them.
Danesa, Meg had to wear suspenders until she was 3 or 4 becuase we couldn't pull the tabs up far enough. I don't what I'm gonna do when she gets longer than a girls size 14, because they don't make junior size jeans with pull up tabs, lol.
Oh folks.. i've long since given up on "adjustable tab" waistbands. BAH. I'm with you Shel, they don't stretch far enough. Carterman has to have ALL his pants tailored - and SHIRTS! (by me, of course.) Fixing jeans is the worst. i can't tell you how many needles i've broken on my machine.
Ps.. her Cleopatra costume is amazing! Can you make one in my size? :-)
