Aargh!

Ok, I'm stressed. Too many people wanting too many things and I just can't do them all. Most of them I can't say "no" to, even though I want to. I usually call my sister to vent, but she's not available, so you guys get it. Bummer for you. You can skip the rest if you don't want to hear it.

We're working on the Prop 8 stuff, but it's really hard to get support from anyone in our area of the ward. Everyone has all kinds of excuses, but we're zip code supervisors and it usually works out that we're out knocking doors on our own, or with maybe two other people, and I feel like we're not making enough progress. If everyone in our ward spent one or two hours, we'd could get through it. But, with only about 1/4 of our ward actually working on it, it's very frustrating. I'm sure the other zip code supervisors in our ward are having the same frustration.

I hate the sixth grade, this ADD girl of mine has way too much homework and I just don't have time or energy to keep her poor tired brain focused for three or four hours every day when she's already tired after school. I'm starting to think that home schooling would be easier. I've been thinking about it next year for junior high, because she will just get eaten for lunch at our scary junior high. But, now I'm wishing we'd started this year. We have a big homeschooling group in Marina, it wouldn't be horrible, but she would really miss her friends. But, today she came home with a "group" project that they don't have done, her "group" is nowhere to be found and now I'm supposed to help her write a story. I need Jenny here.

I hate that Sam has to work at a job he hates and comes home unhappy most days. Dunno what to do about it, though, we can't make enough money doing anything else unless we move and it took us so long to get this silly house, I'm not ready to leave yet. Even if we could get a decent price for it, which I'm sure we can't. I'm stressed because high tech takes a big hit when the economy sucks and I'm worried we'll get laid off.

OK, I need to get off my butt and off my computer and make stupid dinner because I can't afford to take us out to eat today.

You both are ZCS? For the whole stake or your ward? I am the zip code coordinator for my zip code, which means, most of my ward boundaries.

I only have about 20 people helping me and only about 10 who are actively helping me. Sounds like you're ahead of me.

My bishop was way non-intrusive, but with prodding from the stake president he is actually talking about it a little church, but only when he has to. Even then, he has not directly asked people to help me.

See my blog and the "What will happen if Prop 8 fails." Also, check out www.catholicvote.com.

Take care. You're always welcome down here for a vacation!

They aren't supposed to really talk about it at church. We had a special fireside at someone's house to talk about it. However, only about 30 people showed up. Some of those decided that they just "couldn't" do it. I dunno, I figure it's way easier than walking to Missouri or something. But, I'm ready for it to be over. We're running just about 50/50 on yes/no voters, so this county could go either way.

We love you guys, if we get down that way, I'll call you.

Oh, and we're ZC supervisors over Moss Landing, Castroville and Prunedale. Heather Hardy and Todd Staley have the rest of the ward, not sure how much support they're getting, but it didn't sound like much to me.

Too bad about your emergency contact going AWOL. So, do you have to literally go door to door, visiting stranger's houses about Prop8? Yikes. Once word got out that you can't say "no," you became person #1 on the list of people to call to do crappy stuff that no one wants to do. Homework sucks. I hate when my kids get assigned some elaborate project to do at home--who are those teachers kidding, the parents always end up doing 90% of the project for the kids.

Yep, we're going door to door, we have a list of registered voters by address. So far, it isn't as bad as you would think. Just time consuming. We don't get into debates, we just find out which way they are leaning. We want to find the definite Yes voters and the "mushy middle" that we need to convince. Then, I enter all the data into a database, which will spit out a list of "yes" voters, which we will bug, and even give rides to the polls to make sure they get out and vote.

And I have no problem telling some people no. But not the bishop and usually not family.

I feel your frustration. I remember when we lived in Cali and the first Prop came up. I made Trent go do all the door to door. I have an ADD kid too and i've just given up. Because I have more kids my odds are much higher than yours one of them will turn out. Hang in there and when you learn how to say No give me the pointers.

I am pretty good at saying yes then just complaining about it. Do I need to add a "Do not ask me about what I am voting" sign next to my "No Soliciting" sign? I don't like it when strangers knock on my door. I was raised a chicken.

Hugs!!! Umm I'm clueless what is prop8? And I'm sorry you don't have more help with whatever it is.

Well, since I've been a homeschool mom for a while, i think it's great especially for those ADD kids that need a little more movement in the day and can take small breaks when their brains can no longer enter information. I hear it's fairly easy to homeschool there and I believe they even have lots of Virtual schools which is pretty much public school at home, that's what we're doing with Sara this year. It's going good, she's not a morning person so we don't get started till she's really awake which is around 9:30-10:30. It takes about 4 1/2 hours only because that's the minimum she has to do a day.

I hear ya on the job front. We only have a few more weeks till Larry's contract is up and he's only gotten a few call backs even though he's sent his resume EVERYWHERE. Frustrating and frightening with the economy the way it is. He has a phone interview tomorrow so hopefully...

Sorry about your frustrations! I can certainly see why.

I can feel you on the Prop 8 stuff. It is really hard to do, we are in it up to our eyeballs as well.

Homework should only be done once in your life. Not each time a kids goes through that grade again. Am i right?

Wish I could help out with the prop 8 stuff. Its frustrating to sit back and wait for CA to decide this issue; which will likely have a big impact on what the rest of the states do.

^^ Send money. :0) www.protectmarriage.com.

We're fighting against Brad Pitt's $8 million, PG&E's $250K, etc.

Even $10 helps. :0)

Okay:
(1) Don't sell your house
(2) No one should sell their house right now. NO ONE. For any reason.
(3) "Tech" doing okay, and Apple doing okay are two different things. I heard that Apple now has like 20% of the laptop market share, growing all the time.
(4) Don't sell your house.
